Permit Area History
D150 DR-CS is located in the Ionia Sea Zone D within the Sibari Basin in offshore Calabria. Average water depth is 200m.
The permit area was formerly held by Agip as permit D.R50.AG between 1976 and 1984. In 1980 commercial gas was discovered in two sand intervals in Laura-1 (Pleistocene, 1306-1343m and Messinian, 1437-1452m; the upper interval tested at 11 MMscfd). Another gas discovery, Lina-1, located in the south of the permit area was made in 1983. In 1984 the permit was converted to the exploitation concession D.C5.AG. A total of 1340 line km of seismic were acquired between 1976 and 1991. None of the accumulations were developed and the concession was relinquished in 2005.
Recent Permit Activity
Apennine Energy was originally assigned the permit in 2010. To date the only activity has been G&G data studies.
Gross P50 contingent resources for the Laura discovery have been estimated by Fugro-Robertson, to be 30 Bscf*. The Lina discovery is estimated by Apennine to be ~10 Bscf.
